The short version

Simply Auto keeps your vehicle binder on your phone. There are no accounts, and we operate no server that your binder is sent to. The app uses the internet for two things only: the advertising banner on the free tier, and Google Play purchases.

We do not receive, see, or store anything you put in the app.

What the app stores, and where

Everything you enter — vehicles (nickname, year, make, model, trim, VIN, plate, fuel type), odometer readings, maintenance items and intervals, service records with cost, notes and parts, warranties and roadside-assistance details, providers (name, phone, email, address), documents, receipts and photos — is written to storage that belongs to this app on your own device.

The database and every photo or PDF you attach live in this app's private storage area, which other apps cannot read.
The app opts out of Android's cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, so Android does not copy this data to your Google account. The only copy that ever exists is the one on your phone, plus any backup file you make yourself.
Providers are the app's own list. Nothing is written to, or read from, your phone's contacts.

Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. Because we hold no copy, we cannot restore it for you — please use Settings → Backup & restore before you switch devices.

What is collected, and by whom

Simply Auto itself collects nothing. However, on the free tier the app displays advertising supplied by Google AdMob, and that SDK collects data. If you buy the one-time premium upgrade, the advertising SDK is never started at all and none of the following applies.

None of this includes the contents of your binder. Google's handling of it is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

You can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the app presents a consent form on first launch, and you can change that choice later at Settings → Ad preferences.

The times data can leave your phone — all started by you

Nothing below happens automatically. Each requires a deliberate action, and in each case you choose the destination.

Backup. Settings → Backup & restore hands a backup file to Android's share sheet, and you pick where it goes — Drive, email, a USB drive. The file is not encrypted: anyone who opens it can read everything in it, including attached photos and documents. Store it somewhere only you can reach.
Reports. Premium only. A PDF or CSV of a vehicle's service history is shared through the share sheet to the app or location you choose.
Sharing a document. Opening a stored document and tapping Share hands that one file to the app you choose.
Phone numbers. Tapping a provider's or roadside card's number opens your dialer with the number filled in. The app never places a call itself.

Permissions

Internet / network state — advertising and Google Play purchases only. The app makes no network request of its own.
Notifications — maintenance and warranty reminders.
Run at startup — so reminders survive a restart.

Simply Auto does not request camera, storage, location, contacts, microphone, SMS or phone permissions. Taking a photo hands off to your camera app, choosing one uses the Android photo picker, and attaching a PDF uses the system file picker — each gives the app only the file you selected.

Children

Simply Auto is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your choices

Delete any vehicle, record, document, or photo in the app at any time.
Uninstall to erase everything on the device.
Buy premium to stop the advertising SDK from running.
Reset your Advertising ID in Android Settings.

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export or delete on request — but if you have a question, please write to us.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects how data is handled, note it in the app's release notes.
