Summit Ridgeline for Android · Last updated 11 October 2026

The short version

Summit Ridgeline keeps your climbs on your phone. There are no accounts, and we operate no server that anything is sent to. The app uses the internet for two things only: advertising on the free version, and the Google Play purchase that removes it.

We do not receive, see or store anything about how you play.

What the app stores, and where

The app stores the climb in progress, your settings and your records (best heights, best times, summits reached) in its own private storage on your device, which other apps cannot read. It opts out of Android's cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, so Android does not copy this to your Google account. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it; because we hold no copy, we cannot restore it.

What is collected, and by whom

Summit Ridgeline itself collects nothing. On the free version the app shows advertising supplied by Google AdMob, and that software collects data. If you buy the one-time purchase, the advertising software is not started and none of the following applies.

DataCollected byPurpose
Advertising ID (a resettable device identifier)Google AdMobAdvertising, measurement, fraud prevention
Approximate location, derived from IP addressGoogle AdMobServing regionally appropriate ads
App interaction and diagnostic dataGoogle AdMobAd delivery and performance
Purchase transactionGoogle PlayProcessing and restoring your purchase

None of this includes your climbs or records. Google's handling of it is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

You can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. Where the law requires it (including the EEA, the UK and Switzerland) the app shows a consent form before any ad is requested, and you can change that choice later at Settings → Privacy choices.

Where ads appear

The free version shows one banner across the very top of the screen, above the game. There are no full-screen ads and no ads you have to watch.

Permissions

The app does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, storage, SMS or phone permissions.

Children

Summit Ridgeline is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your choices

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export or delete on request, but if you have a question, please write to us.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects how data is handled, note it in the app's release notes.
