Simply Home for Android · Last updated 30 July 2026

The short version

Simply Home keeps your home inventory on your phone, encrypted. There are no accounts, and we operate no server that your binder is sent to. The app uses the internet for two things only: the advertising banner on the free tier, and Google Play purchases.

We do not receive, see, or store anything you put in the app.

What the app stores, and where

Everything you enter — item names, categories, rooms, notes, custom detail fields, warranty and purchase dates, reminders, and photos — is written to storage that belongs to this app on your own device.

Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. Because we hold no copy, we cannot restore it for you — please use Settings → Backup & Restore before you switch devices.

What is collected, and by whom

Simply Home itself collects nothing. However, on the free tier the app displays advertising supplied by Google AdMob, and that SDK collects data. If you buy the one-time premium upgrade, the advertising SDK is never started at all and none of the following applies.

DataCollected byPurpose
Advertising ID (a resettable device identifier)Google AdMobAdvertising, measurement, fraud prevention
Approximate location, derived from IP addressGoogle AdMobServing regionally appropriate ads
App interaction and diagnostic dataGoogle AdMobAd delivery and performance
Purchase transactionGoogle PlayProcessing and restoring your purchase

None of this includes the contents of your binder. Google's handling of it is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

You can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the app presents a consent form on first launch, and you can change that choice later at Settings → Ad privacy options.

The three times data can leave your phone — all started by you

Nothing below happens automatically. Each requires a deliberate action, and in each case you choose the destination.

Permissions

Simply Home does not request camera or storage permissions. Taking a photo hands off to your camera app, and choosing one uses the Android photo picker, which gives the app only the picture you selected.

Children

Simply Home is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your choices

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export or delete on request — but if you have a question, please write to us.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects how data is handled, note it in the app's release notes.
