Effective 22 October 2026 · Applies to Simply Gym for Android
Simply Gym stores your training data in a plain database on your device only. There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no server of ours anywhere. The app connects to the internet for exactly two third-party services: Google AdMob (banner advertising in the free version) and Google Play Billing (the optional one-time premium purchase).
None of this leaves your phone unless you send it. There are exactly two ways that can happen, and both are actions you take deliberately:
Cloud and device-to-device backup of the app's private data is deliberately disabled; the JSON export is the supported way to move your data.
The free version shows banner ads via Google AdMob. Like any mobile ad network, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share: approximate location (coarse, IP-derived), app interaction data (ad impressions and taps), diagnostics, and device identifiers including the Advertising ID, for the purposes of advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. This collection is performed by Google under Google's Privacy Policy. In the EEA/UK, a consent form is shown before any ad loads, and while ads are shown you can revisit your choice at any time via Settings → Premium → Ad privacy options in the app. After the premium purchase, no ads are served and the ad SDK stops loading, so that row no longer applies.
Google Play Billing processes the optional one-time purchase; we never see your payment details. Buying it removes ads — and with them, the ad SDK's collection — and unlocks document export. Backup and restore are free with or without it.
Settings → Delete all data erases every program, workout, and record from the device. Uninstalling the app does the same. Because we hold nothing server-side, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
Simply Gym is not directed at children and is intended for users 18 and over.
